Re: Step By Step Propeller Fabrication

First off, amazing site... excellent step by step instructions. Kudos to you.

I do have a question or two though. Your carving duplicator, do you have the plans in the pictures available for email or download? I can almost make out some of the dimensions in the photos but not quite.

Also, you guys mentioned finding the linear bearings or pillow blocks (for the carving duplicator) at a salvage yard. What sort of salvage yard did you go to? I have found them on ebay, but damn they are expensive. Hence the salvage yard question.

     Alright, thanks man.

    Dead Sailing,

Thanks so much for the kind words.

I can give you drawings that I have. some of the stuff we fabricated on the fly, and won't have drawings for that.  Let me know what email u want me to send to.

As for finding bearings, we just happend to find some German made linear bearings, so we designed the slider blocks, and pillow blocks around the bearings we found.  Meaning, you might have to change your dimensions based on what you can find.  We fabricated most of the hardware ourselves, but you can probably find stuff at a local scrap yard (except bearings).  Places that have tons of junk for sale.  Just go online see if one is in yourYes area.

    Mike,

Thanks for the advice and the duplicator plans, I received them today.

I appreciate you going the extra mile for a fellow craftsman, thank you.

Now on to the fabrication, wish me luck.
